Mother’s Day is a time-honored tradition of recognizing the women in our lives who raised us, dried our tears, and well, mothered us. Everyone has one or has someone who is like a mother to them.

Whether we shower her with gifts, take her to a fancy dinner or make her a homemade card, what moms want most is to be surrounded by the love of her family. Knowing the people they love are safe, sound, and healthy is a mom’s number one priority.

If I can help you, your mother or someone who is like a mother to you please reach out to me. I would be happy to help find the best solutions for those you care about.

I look forward to helping those you care about age independently with dignity.

Every May 5th there are lots of festivities around Cinco de Mayo but does anyone know why?

The Battle of Puebla in 19861 pitched 6,000 French troops against a small Mexican force of 2,000 men. Not expecting to win the campaign, the Mexican army overcame the French in under a day. While the battle didn’t win the war, the victory held great symbolism for Mexico during the Franco-Mexican War with communities taking up the banner of the Cinco De Mayo celebration as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy.

Each year, Mexico commemorates the day with celebrations across the country. In the US we celebrate exploring the Mexican culture with food, drinks, music ,culture and movies.

So celebrate Cinco de Mayo the people of Mexico and the arrival of warmer weather!

While primary care physicians—general internists and family physicians—care for most older people, geriatricians frequently provide the primary care for older adults who have the most complicated medical and social problems. Also, because of their unique qualifications and training, geriatricians are often sought to provide consultations for the frailest of older persons.

A geriatrician should be consulted when:

  • An older person's condition causes considerable impairment and frailty. These patients tend to be over the age of 75 and coping with a number of diseases and disabilities, including cognitive (mental) problems.

  • Family members and friends are feeling considerable stress and strain as caregivers.
