As we celebrate National Hospice Month I would like to explain my role as Hospice of New Jersey's Community Liaison.

The role of Community Liaison is to build relationship in the community, provide hospice education, and contact patients and families in order to review hospice services and answer all questions prior to admission.
Once the diagnosis has been approved, Lorraine will contact the patient or POA and explain in detail the Hospice goals and covered services.
Coordinate by email (DocuSign) or in person completion of consents.
If you have questions about Hospice and if it is right for you or your loved one call or text me at: 201-906-1274.
I am here to help. Or click here to email me.

People may have a perceived impression of Hospice and then are surprised by what is the truth or the actual philosophy of Hospice. For National Hospice Month let's discuss the differences.

Hospice's philosophy:
Death is to be a natural part of the cycle of life.
Neither hastens nor postpones death.
Supports patients who desire to die with dignity and have as much control as possible.
Aggressively manage pain and symptoms.
Holistic approach that recognizes pain and suffering may be physical, emotional, spiritual or social.
Supports persons in hopes that they may live as fully and as comfortably as possible.
