Medicare created hospice benefit in 1982, yet only 48% of qualified families take advantage of hospice.
You choose to "elect" the hospice benefit, and you can stop it at anytime.
Patients pay nothing; Medicare pays 100% of care; visits, medications, medical equipment and supplies related to the illness being treated during hospice.
Hospice is a six-month benefit, though services can continue if patients remain eligible.
Studies show patients enrolled in hospice services live longer with better symptom control and pain management versus non-hospice patients.

It was been a fun 10 days celebrating all the great cargegivers during CNA Week! So thrilled to be a part of Hospice of New Jersey Celebrating The Heroes at Care One Livingston and Family of Caring at Montclair. Joining us was on one day was Unicity Healthcare. Nancy Sweeney from Tribute Home Care joining us and donated a beautiful basket to be raffled off to a lucky employee! Italian Ice and Ice Cream provided on several hot summer days!
